Task Security

You can specify what type of user can perform specific tasks in SERRAM. There are 3 different user groups in SERRAM:
  1. Administrators - Management and users that can work in Manager.
  2. Super Users - Supervisors
  3. Users - Normal users like cashiers, waiters, etc.
To change what each user group can do, open Manager and click on Main Setup > General Configuration > System Security Tab.

POS Task Security

  1. Select the task you want to change
  2. Select the minimum user requirement. For example, if you choose Super Users, Super Users and Administrators will be able to perform the task.
  3. The list of users that can perform this task will be displayed.
  4. Click on 'Update this Task' to save your changes.

In the POS Screen, if a user wants to perform a task that he does not have the rights to do, the following screen will appear.

Security Override

It will display what the level of the current logged in user is and what level is required. The user can then ask a user with the required level to override the security to perform the task.

If a security override is done, it will be logged in the system log.
