Using and Existing SQL Server

If you have an existing SQL Server installation that was installed for another application, you could use that instance of SQL Server. All you will need is to know the authentication settings of the server. It is either Windows Authentication or SQL Authentication with a password.

If you don't know these settings, follow the normal install or custom install instructions. A separate instance of SQL Server will be installed for ROROTILL. SQL Server is designed to do this and it will not cause any problems.

If you want to use one of the existing instances, follow the instructions below

Start the SERRAM Database Setup Wizard by opening SERRAM Manager or by starting it directly. Select the 'I want to use an existing installation' option.



On the next screen enter the SQL Server connection settings of the existing installation.
